Short answer: Ultraformer MPT (focused ultrasound), Volnewmer (monopolar radiofrequency) and VOLFORMER, which combines both in one sitting, are single-session treatments whose results build over 2–3 months. For a wedding, a milestone birthday or a photoshoot, the best window is 3–6 months before the date. At 4–8 weeks you will see part of the effect; in the last 2 weeks we don't start anything new. If you are travelling to us, one visit is enough: the review at around three months can be done by photos, and the next session is usually a year later.

Why the date of the session matters more than the session

These devices deliver controlled heat. Collagen contracts straight away, then remodels over weeks. With focused ultrasound, one treatment of the forehead raised the brow by slightly less than 2 mm on average at 90 days (Alam et al., 2010).

So booking the session really means starting a three-month countdown.

A countdown that works

  • 6 to 3 months before: ideal. One session, then a review at around three months — the result is at or near its best on the day.

  • 3 to 2 months before: still good; most of the effect will be visible.

  • 8 to 4 weeks before: possible, but expect only part of the result — fine for looking fresher, not for a planned change.

  • The last 2 weeks: nothing new. Tenderness along the jaw for a few days and, rarely, a small bruise are not what you want in photos.

  • Missed the window? Booking after the event is perfectly reasonable — the next session is a year later anyway.

This applies to grooms as much as brides, and to the parents of the couple.

Fitting injectables around it

  • Anti-wrinkle injections (botulinum toxin): 3–6 weeks before the event, so the effect has settled (about two weeks) and a small touch-up is possible.

  • First-time filler: at least 4–6 weeks before, so swelling and any bruising have resolved.

  • Both planned in the same trip: the device goes first, injectables after it. An international consensus recommends this order (Carruthers et al., 2016), and heat should not go over freshly placed filler (Jurairattanaporn et al., 2023). More: Already had fillers or anti-wrinkle injections?

Which treatment for the photos?

  • Softened jawline, heavier lower face: Ultraformer MPT or VOLFORMER.

  • Skin texture, fine lines, a tired look: Volnewmer.

  • Lean faces: deep ultrasound energy is dosed cautiously, because fat thinning has been reported in thin faces (Suh et al., 2016). A few months before a wedding is not the time to gamble with energy.

  • Volume loss or pigmentation as the main problem: a tightening device is not the answer. Tell us, and we will plan something that fits.

Planning the trip

Kırklareli is about 2 hours by car (≈190 km) from Istanbul Airport, around 45 minutes from Edirne and about 30 km from the Bulgarian border at Dereköy–Malko Tarnovo. A typical plan:

  1. Before booking flights: send photos (front and both sides, in daylight) on WhatsApp.

  2. One day with us: examination in the morning, treatment the same day, no downtime.

  3. Next day: fly home.

  4. Around three months later: review by photos — ideally a few weeks before the event.

About the author

Dr. Kağan Cingöz is a dermatologist with a private practice in Kırklareli, Türkiye. He is one of Classys' international trainers for Ultraformer MPT and Volnewmer and teaches physicians from several countries how to use them. He did not develop the VOLFORMER protocol; he presented it at DEAK 2026 and teaches it to physicians.

Disclosure: the training role is a relationship with the manufacturer, so I write what these devices cannot do as clearly as what they can. Last updated: 13 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have it the week before the wedding?

I wouldn't recommend it. There is no downtime, but the result isn't there yet, and tenderness or a small bruise is possible.

Will I see a difference in the photos straight away?

Some people look slightly tighter the same day, partly from mild swelling. The real result comes over the following 2–3 months.

Should I add a second session closer to the date?

No. One session, assessed at around three months. A second dose of heat on tissue that is still remodelling does not improve the result.

Can the same visit include anti-wrinkle injections or filler?

Often yes, in the right order: device first, injectables after. Whether filler is needed is decided at the examination.

How long is the session?

Usually 45–90 minutes, depending on the areas and on whether one or both devices are used.
