Your first lip filler The goal of a first session is not "big lips" but the best version of your lips: hydration, gentle definition, symmetry. Starting conservatively is always the right strategy — what's missing can be added a month later; what's overdone must be dissolved.

Are natural results possible? Yes — and they are our standard. Three things decide naturalness: product choice (soft, flexible gels), disciplined amounts, and respect for your lip anatomy. "I don't want it to look done" is the sentence I hear most — and a completely achievable request.

0.5 ml vs 1 ml? 0.5 ml gives hydration and subtle definition — a whisper of change, ideal for first-timers. 1 ml gives visible but still natural volume. Which suits you is decided at examination. Beware of cheap offers quoting symbolic amounts like 0.3 ml — always ask the amount along with the price.

Border or volume? Border work sharpens the lip line (lipstick bleeding, blurred edges); volume fills the body of the lip. Most patients need a balanced mix — planned by looking at your lips, not a menu.

How long does swelling last? For 24-48 hours lips look fuller than the final result. Most swelling settles within the first week; we judge the true result at week two.

What if there's asymmetry? Early asymmetry is usually uneven swelling and resolves on its own. Your safety net: a follow-up appointment (small touch-ups if needed) and the fact that hyaluronic acid is reversible.

Dissolving filler (hyaluronidase) Hyaluronic fillers have an "undo button": hyaluronidase, kept ready in our clinic — both as a guarantee for our own work and to correct unsatisfactory filler done elsewhere. With old, migrated or overfilled lips, the right start is often dissolving first and replanning on a clean base.

When do I postpone treatment? Active cold sores (filler can trigger them; preventive planning if you have a history), pregnancy and breastfeeding, active infection, certain blood thinners (timing adjusted), and unrealistic expectations.
