Radiofrequency Lifting for Non-Surgical Skin Tightening / Kırklareli
One of the most visible effects of skin ageing is loss of elasticity and laxity. The decrease in collagen and elastin fibres with age manifests as sagging of the face and neck, fine wrinkles and deterioration in skin texture.
Radiofrequency (RF) lifting is a non-surgical skin tightening method that uses electromagnetic energy to create controlled heat in the deep layers of the skin, thereby triggering collagen renewal.
At our clinic, radiofrequency lifting treatments are performed by dermatology specialist Dr. Kağan Cingöz.
How Does Radiofrequency Lifting Work?
Radiofrequency technology works by delivering controlled RF energy to the tissues beneath the skin. This energy creates a temperature increase of between 40–65°C in the target tissue.
This thermal effect provides skin tightening through two mechanisms:
The first mechanism is immediate collagen contraction. The heat generated by the RF energy causes contraction of existing collagen fibres. As a result, mild tightening may be felt in the early period after the procedure.
The second mechanism is neocollagenesis. The controlled thermal injury triggers the body's natural regeneration process. Fibroblast cells are activated and begin producing new collagen and elastin. This process continues over weeks and months, providing progressive improvement.
Latest-generation monopolar and bipolar RF systems can precisely deliver energy to different depths, targeting both superficial skin quality and deep tissues.
Which Areas Is Radiofrequency Lifting Applied To?
RF lifting can be used for skin tightening in many areas of the face and body:
Facial area: Provides tightening for sagging and laxity in the forehead, cheek, jawline and lower face area. It can be effective in defining the jawline and improving the lower face contour.
Periorbital area: Can be used for treating fine wrinkles and mild laxity around the under-eye area and eyelids.
Neck and décolletage: Tightening treatment can be applied for horizontal lines and laxity of the neck skin.
Body areas: Can be used for skin tightening in areas such as the inner arms, abdomen, thighs and above the knees.
Who Is Radiofrequency Lifting Suitable For?
RF lifting treatment may be considered in the following situations:
It can be applied for tightening purposes in individuals experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity of the face and neck.
It can be considered as a non-surgical alternative for those who do not wish to undergo surgical intervention.
It can be used as part of a general skin rejuvenation programme for individuals who wish to improve their skin quality and texture.
It can be preferred as a supportive treatment to maintain results in patients who have previously undergone surgical facelift.
RF lifting treatment is not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with pacemakers, individuals with metal implants in the treatment area, or areas with active skin infection.
How Is the Radiofrequency Lifting Procedure Performed?
At our clinic, RF lifting treatment is planned on an individual basis:
First, the patient's skin structure, degree of sagging and treatment expectations are assessed. The application areas and number of sessions are determined.
Conductive gel is applied to the treatment area. The RF device head is moved systematically across the skin. During the procedure, a sensation of warmth is created in the skin; this sensation is an indicator that the treatment is working.
The duration of the procedure varies according to the treatment area. Facial treatment generally takes 30–45 minutes, while face and neck together may take 45–60 minutes.
Pain during the procedure is generally minimal. Most patients tolerate the sensation of warmth comfortably.
There is no recovery period after the procedure. The patient can return to daily activities immediately.
Radiofrequency Lifting Results
The results of RF lifting treatment appear gradually:
After the first session, mild tightening and increased radiance of the skin may be felt.
The actual results generally begin to become visible after 3–4 sessions. As collagen renewal continues for weeks, results increase over time.
For optimal results, 4–6 sessions are generally recommended. An interval of 1–4 weeks is left between sessions.
The longevity of results depends on the patient's age, skin structure and lifestyle. Results can be supported in the long term with maintenance sessions.
Every patient's response to treatment is different. Results may vary from person to person.
Combined Treatments with Radiofrequency Lifting
RF lifting can be combined with other treatments as part of a comprehensive facial rejuvenation programme:
The combination of HIFU with RF lifting can provide comprehensive tightening by targeting different skin depths.
The combination of microneedle radiofrequency with superficial RF lifting can improve both skin texture and deep tissues.
The combination of mesotherapy or PRP with RF lifting can improve skin quality while supporting the tightening effect.
Botox and fillers can be planned together with RF lifting to create a comprehensive facial rejuvenation protocol.
Combined treatment plans are determined on an individual basis by the dermatology specialist following examination.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is radiofrequency lifting painful?
During the procedure, a sensation of warmth is created in the skin. This sensation is tolerated comfortably by most patients. The level of pain is generally minimal and anaesthesia is not required.
How many sessions does radiofrequency lifting require?
For optimal results, 4–6 sessions are generally recommended. The number of sessions is determined by the dermatology specialist according to the patient's skin structure and treatment goals.
Is there a recovery period after radiofrequency lifting?
No. You can return to your daily activities immediately after the procedure. There may be mild redness on the skin, but this usually resolves within a few hours.
What is the difference between radiofrequency lifting and HIFU?
Both technologies are used for non-surgical skin tightening but use different energy sources and mechanisms. RF uses electromagnetic energy, while HIFU uses ultrasound energy. HIFU generally reaches deeper tissues in a single session, while RF treatment provides gradual improvement over multiple sessions. Which treatment is suitable is determined following examination.
When are radiofrequency lifting results seen?
After the first session, a slight increase in skin radiance may be noticed. Noticeable results generally begin to appear after 3–4 sessions, and collagen renewal continues for weeks after treatment is completed.
What technology is used for radiofrequency treatment at your clinic?
Our clinic uses latest-generation monopolar radiofrequency / FDA-approved Volnewmer technology for skin tightening treatments. Detailed information about the treatment device and protocol can be obtained during your consultation appointment.
